Introducing Office in the new Microsoft Copilot app – Microsoft is bringing Word, Excel and PowerPoint creation and editing directly into the Copilot app. You can start in Chat or Cowork, have Copilot draft a document, spreadsheet or presentation, then keep editing and co-authoring it side by side with the conversation. Files are stored in OneDrive, so they keep their formatting, sharing permissions, version history and your organisation’s compliance and security labels. It is rolling out now to Frontier customers in Chat and Cowork. It shows Microsoft moving Office further inside the Copilot experience rather than keeping the two apart.

Sending From Email Aliases – General Availability – The Exchange team has announced that sending from an email alias in Exchange Online is now generally available. This lets Outlook clients send as, and keep, an alias rather than having it swapped for the primary address. The feature has been in preview since 2022 and is switched on tenant-wide with the SendFromAliasEnabled setting. (The post itself is very short, so check it for the finer details and known limitations.)

The Microsoft AI and Agent Platform — Securing and Governing Intelligent Agents – Part 2 of a series on Microsoft’s AI and agent platform, focused on trust. It argues that securing agents goes well beyond prompt security, because agents combine models, tools, memory and identity, so controls are needed at every layer. Microsoft points to Agent 365 and Microsoft Purview for lifecycle management and data governance, least-privilege access for MCP, APIs and tools, and agent hooks for enforcing policy inside the agent loop. (Summary based on the post’s description and a third-party summary, as the page could not be opened directly.)

3 lessons from frontier AI vulnerability research – Microsoft’s FORGE Lab shares what it has learned using AI agents to find software vulnerabilities. From May to September 2026 the work helped uncover Windows flaws assigned 140 CVEs, and it submitted 155 validated reports across 23 open-source projects, including the Linux kernel. The three lessons are to focus on scale rather than just model capability, to spend reasoning effort where it removes uncertainty, and to treat validation and fixing as part of the discovery loop. The key point for security leaders is to count validated fixes, not just findings.
