First Sydney Meetup next week

The Cloud Business Blueprint is all about building a community of like minded and progressive cloud professionals. Although we share plenty of information in our private members area, this blog, our podcasts the most effective way to build a community is via face to face business networking.

As such, we have therefore arranged our first Sydney meet up to be held:

Date: Monday 20th January

Time: from 6.30pm

Location: The Oaks Hotel, Military Road, Neutral Bay in the “Bar & Grill” area

This is a completely informal get together with the goal of allowing attendees to network with each other and share interests, contacts, strategies and general information.

We are also happy to welcome anyone along who thinks they get value from attending even if they are not currently a member of the Cloud Business Blueprint yet. Feel free to come along and join in the conversation, no obligation.

If you planning on attending we would ask that you let us know via an email to so we can ensure we have enough seats reserved for you at the table.

Our plan going forward is hold these casual meet ups regularly once a month with the plan to expand into other major locations such as Melbourne and Brisbane for starters.

Remember, it is totally informal some along and enjoy a good feed and great conversation with a fantastic bunch of people all looking to better their business through the cloud.

CIAOPS Virtual Technology Group meeting announced

After a few weeks consideration I have decided to migrate the old face to face Desktop to Cloud group to a new online ‘virtual’ meeting. Here are the details:
Date: Wednesday, July 3 2013
Time: 4:00 – 5:00 pm (Sydney AU time)
Cost: Free
For this first event I have lined up Microsoft MVP – Developer Security Troy Hunt who will be speaking about ‘The Insecure Web’.
All the details about the meeting are on the registration site but we’ll be using Lync 2013 so we can take feedback and questions from attendees. There will also be plenty of time for general technology chat so come along and let me know what you’d like to see these meeting contain.
If this meeting is a success then I’ll be scheduling more, so come along and let me know what you think and of course get some great info from Troy.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via

Desktop to Cloud January recording

The recording from last night’s Desktop to Cloud meeting is now available on my YouTube channel.

It featured an excellent presentation from Mark O’Shea on Windows Intune as well as a brief look at Windows Azure. This was followed up by a panel discussion on the best mobile phone.

First sessions for Desktop to Cloud day announced

I am happy to let you know of the first confirmed sessions for the upcoming Desktop to Cloud day on the 18th of May, 2013. These sessions are:

– Building an Internet site using Office 365 – Ishai Sagi

In this session, SharePoint MVP and SharePoint books Author Ishai Sagi will build an internet site using Office 365, from scratch. Come and see how you can build one for your clients – without the need of coding knowledge.

– Hybrid Solutions with Microsoft Online Services – Mark O’Shea

Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater when moving to the world of online services. While you may be constantly exposed to messages about moving to the cloud, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you should remove all on premise servers in your goal to get the best possible cloud solutions. In this session you will see how you can leverage your existing infrastructure during migration to online services, and how it can provide long term benefits to your cloud capabilities.

– Going to the cloud with SkyDrive – Robert Crane

Just exactly how can Microsoft SkyDrive and SkyDrive Pro in Office 365 help you business be more efficient? This session will help you to understand the differences between SkyDrive and SkyDrive Pro as well as all of the features of each. Most importantly it will show you the tips and tricks you need with each product to really make the most of these services for your business.

As more sessions and speakers are confirmed I’ll post them here and on the Desktop to Cloud day page.

If you are interested in the event you can find more details, including registration at:

Super Earlybird entry is still available for only $22 for the whole event, so please take time to register now as places are expected to start filling fast as we approach the date.
