Turns out that a very large percentage of partners fail to go in and identify themselves as the partner of record for their customers using Office 365. So, even if you think it has already been set I urge you to go in and check just to be sure, because remember, no partner of record means no commissions.
To set the partner of record for a customers tenant you’ll need to have all your Microsoft partner ‘ducks in a line’ before before you commence this process. This means you’ll need to ensure you are signed up as an appropriate Microsoft Cloud Partner.
Assuming you have all your partner details in order, login into your customers Office 365 tenant as a global administrator. Navigate to the Office 365 admin center as shown above.
From the menu on the left hand side expand the Billing option. From the options that appear select Subscriptions.
Select a valid license from the subscription list. Then on the right, select the Subscription details hyperlink.
In the lower right, under partner information, select add as shown above.
A dialog will appear as shown above. Enter your Microsoft partner number in the field and select the Check ID button on the right.
If everything is in order, you should see green text beneath the field indicating that the partner has been found. If you get an error here ensure all your Microsoft partner stuff is correct.
After saving these changes you will be returned to the Subscription details page where you should see your information under the partner information area in the lower right.
If you wish to change this at any stage simply return here and select the edit link.
You should then receive a notification email to your partner account email account confirming that you have successfully be made part of record for that tenant.
Now the commissions should flow’eth.
